Patient Safety in Europe – where are we today and where we could be?
The lack of therapeutic adherence and medication errors, especially in polymedicated elderly patients, generates avoidable adverse effects, increases hospitalizations, morbidity and cost. Addressing this problem by improving therapeutic adherence and avoiding medication errors, could massively contribute to increase the efficiency of healthcare systems and improve patient’s safety. This panel will provide different insight on this problematic.

Improving therapeutic adherence and avoiding medication errors – what benefits can existing tools like Dose Dispensing bring to health systems?
Dose Dispensing helps to address this problem by improving therapeutic adherence and avoiding medication errors particularly in polymedicated patients. Sharing data and best practices with the aim of raising overall awareness among patients and health care professionals could improve standards and reduce the number of premature deaths and adverse events in the European Union.
